WINGSUIT & B.A.S.E.

PARACHUTING FROM A FIXED OBJECT

BASE jumping is the activity of parachuting from a fixed object. Fixed objects can be cliffs, buildings, antennas, bridges, cables, dams or any other object fixed to the ground. Wingsuit BASE jumping has combined the sport of BASE jumping with a suit that allows the pilot to glide down a mountain with

a glide ratio around 3:1.  The acronym B.A.S.E. was created by Carl Boenish.

It stands for Building, Antenna, Span, Earth.

1 TO 2 SECONDS OF FREEFALL

In the early years of her jumping career Ellen was a dedicated ‘slider-down’ BASE jumper.

At every opportunity you would find her in Moab, Utah jumping off of the 100-200m high cliffs,

soaking up the 1-2 seconds of freefall before opening her parachute.

PARACHUTING FROM A FIXED OBJECT

Ellen’s passion for wingsuit BASE jumping lead her to pack her bags in the States

and move to Chamonix France where she is able to jump and fly every day.

“I am so grateful for how wingsuitng has changed my life. It has taught me how

to push past my comfort zone and has given me the courage to try new things.”
